About the Author
Ramy Romany is a world-renowned Egyptologist. Born into a documentary-producing family in Cairo, Egypt, Romany had the unique opportunity to hone his skillset from an early age while taking part in multiple active excavations and discoveries in Egypt. This led him to pursue a degree in Ancient Egyptian History and Archaeology from the University of Cairo. Romany can both read and write in Hieroglyphs. Combining his passions of film and Egyptology, Romany was able to film, produce, direct, and be featured in over one hundred documentaries on Ancient Egypt for major international networks. An "Expert on all things Egyptian," as Joanna Lumley calls Romany on national British Television, Romany took Ewan McGregor into the great pyramids of Giza on Long Way Down for National Geographic. He was also the Egyptologist for Ancient Aliens on the History Channel and part of the team that discovered an underground pyramid on the Discovery Channel's Curiosity: Egypt: What Lies Beneath. After many years of filming documentaries on Ancient Egypt, political circumstances led Romany to flee his home in Egypt and relocate to Los Angeles, CA. While Romany still resides in Los Angeles, CA with his wife and their three children, he continues to travel to locations across the globe filming, producing, and being featured in documentaries and TV shows and takes at least one trip back to Egypt every year.

I started chapter 1 last night, can't wait (have to watch AAliens tonight first!) to plow into the rest. The first chapter draws you in like a Dan Brown page turner- the characters are introduced Indiana Jone's style: the archaelogist from the 20's, the deeper parts of an unopened tomb, the lack of hieroglyphics on the wall giving a sense of foreboding, and the exceptionally well written introduction to ancient Egypt. I've been a history fan for decades and the synopsis of upper vs lower Egypt , Amenhotep and the Ramses line of pharoahs, and many more details are accurate and written in a fun, fast style. Ramy is on ancient aliens, but is also a bona fide archaeologist, who brings this tale of the "evil one" to life...excellent stuff.I will update when the plot twists. Stay tuned.
I did not want to put this book down. I love reading and learning about ancient Egyptian history. I learned a lot more history from this book on "The Evil One". This book reads like a story, but has real history. Bought it on a Friday night and finished it Saturday afternoon. I highly recommend this book of you want learn about history but don't like the dry, data filled books that make you fall asleep.
I received my book this evening when I got home from work! I planned on reading a couple of chapers before bed, but the book was great and I couldn't put it down. As I read, the movie in my thoughts was laid out perfectly!! Perhaps a short film for the History Channel? Great job on this adventure!
I have read it. I liked the writing style of flashing back to historical events and forward to the researchers findings. It was pleasant reading and I would recommend it.
I’ve been fascinated with this period in Egyptian history for many years, and also with KV55 since I first read about it. I never put the two together until Mr Romany’s book. Fascinating! New information! I highly recommend it!
This book was amazing and informative about the life of Egyptian Pharaoh Akhenaten & His Queen Neferneferuaten Nefertiti in which they worshiped one god only, Aten, or the sun disc .
The biggest problem with this book is that you cannot put it down! I'm going to re-read it - I loved it so much!
Absolutely loved this book. I also want to say how wonderful Amazon was as well. I was missing about 20 pages from my book when I received it (just a publisher mistake), and I got a replacement with absolutely no trouble. But, this book is awesome. So interesting and informative. Hope Ramy writes another one soon!
