If you are a Colbert fan, you will probably enjoy this in audio book format as I did. It lets him put even more spin on the topics in his unique style. Fans of extreme sarcasm and off the wall humor relating to current events will enjoy the rant.

Stephen's wit stays sharp thoughout this book. There are several laugh out loud moments. I read this book before bed every night to put me a good mood. I would literally go to sleep with a smile on face, thinking how hilarious the book was. Not to mention, I actually learned things! I won't go into topics, but there were some portions, where I thought, "did this really happen?" Look it up, and sure enough, it did! His humor isn't for everyone. If you enjoy dry, witty humor than this is for you!It came with two 3D glasses, which was unnecessary. The envelope they were stored in was kind of thick, and made holding the book a little awkward because it kept wanting to close. I didn't want to ruin the book by cutting the envelope out, so I left it. WARNING: Do not get this book on a Kindle. I read how others were disappointed with it. I have a Kindle, and cannot imagine how this book could be adapted properly for it. Get the hard cover, there's so many little things to enjoy in it, like the footnotes!

I truly love Stephen Colbert for his sharp, quick wit and keen sense of humor that never stoops to taking low blows, but I had no idea he could write as hilariously as he speaks! I am so excited as I look forward to reading the entire book as soon as Christmas officially is here. This is the first book of his that I have read but I have not really read it all yet. (It's actually a Christmas present to myself so I only allowed myself to read a few pages here and there. :) It was very hard to put it down, but I did and then quickly ordered another copy for a friend. I would order more if only my budget permitted! I love how he was enlightening me as much as he entertained, just as he does on The Colbert Report. Even the footnotes (and there were many) added to my laughter! Brilliant work, Stephen!

If your a fan of The Colbert Report or The Late Show with Stephen Colbert this book is for you. It is flooded with pictures and animated discussion all from Stephen's classic humorous point of view. It has chapters in it just long enough to get a dose of laughter. Funny and a little edgy.

Perhaps I expected more than I should have given that I'm a fan of the show and completely familiar with Colbert's style, but I'd hoped for a little more substance. This very short audio book is fun, but frothy. Colbert expends most of his energy on puns and intriguing language games and doesn't get to the substance until the last few chapters. Too bad. He's got an incisive mind and a quick wit. I found myself tuning out. That's never good.

The world cannot get enough of Stephen Colbert, or so it seems. This adorable, hilarious,charm-filled addition in the ongoing legacy of Stephen Colbert is wonderfully funny, witty, entertaining, out-of-this world imaginative. The photos are just wacky cute with 3-D pages plus the graphics are to die for. I just love the little stories for (American)worldly advice like how to get a job or learning of our complicated Justice system. There is a laugh on every page, sometimes thousands. It is no wonder that Mr. Colbert is the darling of our Generation. He will undoubtably inspire many generations of satirists in the future. I hope that he will continue to write for many years to come that I may read all the smart, funny things he has to write about. I am a big fan of his and his show, The Colbert Report. I thank the world that gave us this unusually talented, gifted soul. Please thank him and his staff for this fantastic, wonderful,witty addition to American Humour, With much love.

Two stars are for kindle version of this book. It is formatted as carbon copy of real book and it makes it impossible to read unless you are in front of a big screen. I wish I could return this and order paper copy.

With his characteristic wit and humor, Colbert returns with this scathing satire of the state of American punditry, perfectly released before the presidential election when the insanity of punditry was in full force.Even though it is clear in what direction Colbert's satire is directed at, it is still an entertaining read full of jokes that anyone should be able to laugh at.I would recommend this book to anyone who has a sense of humor and does not take their politics so seriously to border psychosis. If I could enjoy this book as a Republican, so can you! (And so can you!)

My boyfriend and I LOVE Colbert's writing. We watch the show quite often, and we loved his last book. The best thing about his audio books is that he's the one who reads them, so it's like watching him without the visual aspect. His last book was AMAZING! This one was okay. It had it's hilarious moments, but it felt a LOT shorter than "I am America and so can you." In the end we were left somewhat entertained but wanting a lot more than what we got.

The Wells-Resnikoff book on wavelets is in my opinionone of the best:-- both with regard to the math--the proofs and all that!--, and the applications. The ideas in the book are timeless, and, I expect, it will be a great book for decades to come. It is very strong on both scores. And it is beautifully written: It is all there,- the history, themotivation, the philosophical points, the applications, the guided tours with friendly author-explainations of what it is all about. For me, this book was a page-turner. I read it ona long plane flight,- on my way to a wavelet conference in Guangzhou, China. -- And I didn't have jet-lag when I arrivedmore than a day later. It may be a bit demanding on some students, but it will be well worth their effort!

I am a graduate student in Math and was attracted to the book because it treats topics -- wavelets of rank other than 2, tilings, and others -- that are missing from many of the standard texts. Wavelets are approached through the introduction of matrices with certain algebraic properties rather than through orthonormal bases in L2 or scaling functions.Interesting, say I. This will give me a different perspective on many of the basic results and let me read some papers I've been struggling with.The book, however, did not fully live up to my expectations. Many difficult concepts are introduced in a cursory way, and the proofs skip a lot of details. This is not uncommon in graduate level texts, as it is expected that the reader can fill in the gaps. When I filled in the gaps, however, I discovered more than a few errors. Often, these were just distractions such as missing or incorrect constants. But at least one proof contained more serious errors.Graduate level math is hard enough without having to figure out what the authors *meant* to say. I would advise a student of my level of sophistication to look elsewhere.

If the authors were less enthusiastic about mathematics for its own sake, they probably would have written a better book. This one is said to be suitable for undergraduates, but I don't think so. I have a master's degree in electrical engineering, and several of the mathematical concepts they mention were just vaguely familiar names to me. That would be OK if I were persuaded that those concepts were essential to an understanding of wavelets, but I'm not. The book seems somewhat ill organized as well; new terminology should be defined before it's used, not fifty pages later.

This has now become one of my favorite science book series. It is not as dense a read as Wheater's Atlas, and is actually quite enjoyable to read.It is an excellent explanatory introduction into the theories and basics of histology in a very clear and concise manner. I would compare it to the Lippincott's Biochemistry text. It explains the theory and shows slides and pictures to help illustrate the material. I would highly recommend this book to any medical student before their histology class, or any pre-med looking to get a head start into a deeper understanding of the human bodies cells and how they work.

I used this book in my first semester of medical school. Very well written book with histology and some key physiology. Other books may have more detail, but what I like most about this book is that it represents a good introduction to histology and it contains a realistic amount of information to assimilate in a semester of medical school.

Looks like it was printed at some guy’s home. Can barely see the pictures. Very mad and disappointed. DO NO BUY. Otherwise the book would have great potential...

Good review. You must consider that the intention of this book isn't teach but review important subjects of histology. I strongly recomend this book.

The description of this book should better explain that the book contains what medical students need to know about histology for THEIR boards, it is not for graduate histotechs who are preparing to take the ASCP HT exam. I am returning this book. Waste of money.

Comprehensive and detailed. The format is logical and easy to follow- making it incredibly user friendly. Images and illustrations are abundant and high quality. The authors have done an excellent job integrating histology, anatomy and physiology making it a "must have" for the first year medical student.
